Jonas Pryde, Student limited?

Is there going to be a park this year???????

What are the hours of operation going to be this year?

The mid-week hours need some serious reconsideration. Open at 2 pm doesn't make any sense.

You guys aren't open enough to buy season passes? πŸ€”

What’s limited vs unlimited😬

How much are daily ticket prices? What are the hours gonna be. Are all the lifts gonna be working/running? What days will we have to walk back to the lift? Are you gonna groom the whole mounain this year?

Marquette Mountain

We had over 100 attendees at our Community Forum on Tuesday! Topics included the new snowmaking system piping and pumps, new snowmaking electrical systems, new hours of operation and the new ticket office arrangement (or simply going back to the way it was in the past). We also discussed our plan to reconnect snowmaking on the east side and to mow/weed wack the hill this fall. We've added LED lights to chute, shaker and additional fixtures on Contour. Upper Snowfield will now be illuminated allowing for skiers to ride to to top of Rocket Chair during night operations.

We also received lots of feedback on our proposed hours of operation which included opening at 2pm M-W. Our goal is to only operate when it's profitable to do so. Like all Midwest ski hills, we need to be frugal in order to be sustainable. The first half of the week has historically been the slowest for us and this seemed like a viable option, but realized this may not work best for everyone.

We do understand that not only day tickets play a role in that decision - season pass sales are our #1 revenue generator and we need to cater to this community first and foremost. Other factors include groups from Wisconsin coming on weekdays, retirees or the ski bums who are lucky enough to come out any morning of the week, as well as students who are in school until 3pm, and the local working class that generally can't make it out until 5 or 6pm. With that said, it's impossible to please everybody but we hope this new schedule will check most of the boxes. Here is what we have determined works best for both MM and members of the ski community:

Monday: Closed
Tuesday - Saturday: 10am-8pm
Sunday: 10am-5pm

These hours will be a 33% reduction from last season but will be similar to the hours we provided before then. It will also provide our staff Mondays each week to tackle some hill projects such as chairlift safety tests, grooming projects, on-hill snowmaking, park builds, etc.

We will open on MLK and President's days and will do our best to open for any big power dumps that fall on a Sunday night.

A few other changes we will be implementing based on feedback from Tuesday:
- Limited passes will include night skiing on Saturdays
- Military personnel will be entitled to Student/Legend pricing
- Chute will no longer be used for a terrain park. All of Contour
and the shoulders of Ridge will be the main TPs this season.
- We plan to install a couple of boxes on the side of Tyro
- We will keep the large 'garage hits' and some big rails but
cater better to our beginner and intermediate riders.
- The East side will not be groomed after a fresh snow with the
exception of Weasle Gulch. We may leave Supreme and Twilight Zone completely ungroomed throughout the season.
- We will offer season rental packages for $150
- We will offer ski tuning as a service for our guests

Lastly - quick reminder that season pass prices increase at the end of the month!

We hope this information is just as exciting for all of you as it is for us. Change is difficult, and we've had a lot of it lately. Please understand that we have done our homework, we have listed to literally 100+ opinions and are confident we are moving in the right direction. Thanks for being part of the journey and we can't wait to SKI YOU SOON!!!

Wow! Thanks for listening to all of us.....it really means a lot. My only suggestion would be to groom Twilight after it’s skied out....this is a great steep, fast run when groomed. Plus grooming it builds up the base it needs. Let the powder hounds have it till they’ve chewed it up....then groom it out. The East side really helps spread the crowds out on race weekends.

Looks great! Love that you're willing to listen to the community and work to do what's best on your end and ours! Our family is excited to ski a bunch this winter! Is it too early to be excited for snow?!

Thankful for you, Andrew. You and your team are the best thing to happen at MM since the Cliff’s Ridge days!

... I’ll ski that

That's some good stuff right there, Andrew. Nice job, man. Keep plugging away. Things are moving in the right direction.

Will your weekly hours be more during prime times such as winter break? I was planning on booking a week long trip to come visit from Arkansas the first week of January

High School Championships are always on Mondays. Does this means you will not be able to host any State Championships?

Thanks Andrew! You're the best.

Are you hiring ski instructors? Im PSIA Level 1

Great schedule, after all the comments at community forum. Mondays will be my XC ski day. Thanks for all your hard work, leadership, listening and ideas in not only keeping Mqt. Mountain going, but also making improvements.

Great job Andrew...... Historic public meeting.

πŸ‘πŸ€Ÿ

What are day passes priced at this season ?

Making some great moves!

Nice work Andrew Farron!. The adjusted hours are great. It's refreshing and exciting to have you and your passion "at the wheel"! Keep it up! The season will be upon us real soon! The Stoke is high! Thanks to you and your staff!

Thank you Andrew! As a retiree the adjusted hours are welcomed. Keep up the great work. Your passion is obvious and contageous.

Sounds good

I love everything that you’re doing here. Also, powder Tuesdays are a real thing. I worked at Summit at Snoqualmie in WA and Alpental was also closed on mondays. This let staff take a little breather as well as work on special snow farming projects. We’d also benefit from letting the snow pile up give us all face shots on Tuesday mornings. 🀘🏽🀘🏽

Keep up the GREAT work!

I think it’s great πŸ‘πŸΎ Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. I was out of town and sorry I couldn’t see my Winter People β›·βœŠπŸΎπŸ’―

To quote a great friend...”Yippee Skipee!” Andrew it was an awesome meeting. The pump house is amazing work. Your passion, commitment and dedication is appreciated to our hill is appreciated. You may yet turn this ridge into a mountain. The hours are fantastic for those of us in the chronologically gifted category. Thanks for the work that went into your presentation and listening and more importantly hearing your community out! Great job to you and yours! Look forward to the chair lift ride. I thought Eric’s idea of bringing Seppe’s chapel to the hill was spot on. He loved Cliff’s Ridge and we loved him! It would be awesome!

Good to know the bar is set low for the terrain park

Rock on Andrew and team!!
