7th Annual Boarding For Breast Cancer
Saturday, March 3
Brought to you by the Zone radio station and KP’s Mountain Shop. Crystal Mountain is once again hosting Boarding for Breast Cancer. As in the past, this year’s event includes breast cancer awareness and education exhibits, snowboard and ski product demos, product raffle, product sampling, the Cammy Potter Memorial Slopestyle Competition and entertainment throughout the day. Plus an after party in the evening!
To participate in the board/ski-a-thon, skiers and boarders simply need to obtain a pledge form or collect pledges online. Participants then hit Crystal’s slopes on March 3 for a day of riding or skiing. and entertainment throughout the day.
Prizes!
- Free lift tickets will be awarded for those collecting at least $100 in pledges.
- Anyone collecting at least $500 in pledges receives a free 2007/2008 Limited Season Pass
- Anyone collecting at least $1000 in pledges receives a free 2007/2008 Unlimited Season Pass.
We will be giving away an Atomic snowboard for the person collecting the highest amount of money in pledges!
4th Annual Cammy Potter Slopestyle
Saturday, March 3
Named in memory of former US Women’s Snowboard Team member and northern Michigan resident, Cammy Potter, who died of breast cancer at the age of 35, this slopestyle competition is part of the Boarding for Breast Cancer events on March 3. Held in Crystal’s Super Park, this event is one of the most popular slopestyle events of the winter and always draws a good crowd of both competitors and spectators. Prizes awarded in several divisions.
Mardi Gras celebration and Big Air Contest.
Cajun style food featured throughout the resort. Bead contests in Dudley’s Saloon Saturday night.

Takes place Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm. Skier and snowboarder division. Best of two jumps –scored on height and difficulty of jump.

Snowcat skiing starts this Friday — Conditions are great we have been getting constant snow the past ten days. 34 runs are now open. All of the glades except for Black Forest are now open at the Porkies. Snowcat skiing will begin this Friday ,Saturday and Sunday.
Over 100 acres of inbounds backcountry terrain has been added to the Porcupine Mountains - accessed by Snowcat!

New this year, the Peaks offers two terrain parks! The beginner park is located on Gum Drop and offers a 16′ fun box, pipe rail, 1/4 pipe and tree jib.
The main Cammy Potter Terrain Park is located in the valley between North & South Peak and offers a 16′ descending flat rail, multiple table tops, rainbow rail, a 10′ flat rail, a kink rail and a battleship rail.
New this year! Shanty Creek is offering 4 terrain parks, spread over two separate ski areas to offer a variety of options for every level of terrain park riders.
Our parks are designed with progression and flow in mind, groomed daily and maintained by knowledgeable skiers and riders. The parks will change throughout the season, features and/or park runs may close at anytime when rideability or safety is a concern.
Schuss Mountain
A new addition, this year is a park on Elf Shelf. It will offers features for the first time park user wanting to learn the skills necessary on how to ride rails and take small jumps in a separate, learner friendly setting.
Our park on Village Way is the perfect place to hone your freestyle skills. It offers several smaller jumps, a variety of lower and easier to ride rails, with lots of rollers, dips and turns. It’s perfect to practice on before advancing to our largest park.
You’re under the spotlight of spectators riding the Purple Lift when you’re kicking it on our largest park, the Purple Daze Park. It contains Shanty Creek’s biggest jumps and a selection of our sickest rails and boxes. Our newly modified down-flat-down and rainbow rail are featured in the park as well as our popular 20′ “Zebra Rail” and our new 30′ A-frame box top rail. Various jibs, tabletop and hip/spine jumps may also be featured throughout the season.
Summit Mountain
The Summit Park will being its season on Crick Hollow with a few tabletops and rails. As conditions permit, the park will move to Helms Gate to create a top-to-bottom run full of jumps and rail options.
