Our groomer was able to hit all the trails yesterday! Trails are in GREAT condition!!! New snow every day this week has helped the trail base. ❄

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> Opening today is once again delayed to 10am due to subzero temperatures. We do plan a full system groom for skate and classic. There is an event tomorrow, The Meier Winter Games Forbush Freestyle race. Racers will be utilizing most of the ski trails during the morning. Trails are not closed to non racers, however the event should be winding down by noon.

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> 1/30, more snow and still falling and John is grooming. John is being hampered by branches ladened with snow and ice hitting the cab of MAGNUS, needing to stop often to cut the branches. These branches will eventually damage our equipment. We need to have a work bee to take care of this problem. Once we pick some dates to do this we will advice. 🏡 Lodge and trails open at 9:00 AM
We received about 2 inches of new snow yesterday—a nice refresh for the trail system.
Groomer Dan is getting a well-earned day of rest today. Justin will be heading out on the groomer after this morning’s GRA Board meeting, which means grooming efforts will begin around 9:30 AM.

An Extreme Cold Watch remains in effect. Please be sure to layer appropriately—think windproof outer layers, warm gloves or mittens, face protection. We strongly encourage taking frequent warm-up breaks and listening to your body while out on the trails.

🎿 Nordic Trail Update:
🏡 Lodge and trails open at 9:00 AM
We picked up about ¼ inch of new snow overnight. Blue received a fresh combing pass, and new classic tracks were set on Brown, Yellow, and M-93 Hills.
The rest of the trail system still has a very skiable skate deck and classic tracks, just lightly snow-covered.
🌲 Wilderness received fresh tracks yesterday and is skiing well.

We are definitely not lacking snow this year. Few more inches overnight, more in the forecast, and cold temperatures will preserve the snowpack. Grooming east side trails today for skate and classic. Open 9 to 5.

FROM Caberfae Peaks >> We received another 3″ of new snow in the last 24 hours, bringing the 3 day total to 12″ and the 8 day total to 19 inches!
The snow conditions are excellent and the forecast is calling for a high of 22 today.
Lifts are open 10am to 8 pm today.
This weekend is the Lower Peninsula Pinhead Reunion. Based out of Skyview Lodge, the event starts with a move premiere on Friday night at 7 pm of “Michigan’s Skiing Legacy” followed by Telemark ski events all day long on Saturday.
Purchase lift tickets online in advance and save. The further you purchase in advance, the greater the savings.

Groomer Dan is out this morning giving Red, Yellow, Brown, Blue, and M-93 Hills a fresh comb on the skate deck.
Classic tracks on these trails are two days old and still holding up well.
🌲 Wilderness Trail:
Groomed yesterday with fresh set tracks and skiing well.
🚴 Fat Bike Trail Update:
Groomer Jorden is out this morning packing the trail. Riding should be good very soon!
🎓 Program Update:
Due to the CASD school district being closed today, the after-school Learn to Ski program is canceled.

Downhill and tubing operations will resume Friday, January 23rd from 4:00–9:00 PM for our Friday Night Specials:
