Caberfae Peaks – WHAT’S NEW for 2017 – 2018

WHAT’S NEW for 2017 – 2018 at Caberfae Peaks…. Snowmaking expansion at the top of North Peak… New Snowmaking Machines – 4 new SMI PoleCats and 1 new SMI Super Polecat… A new Prinoth BR 350 snow grooming vehicle… A newly paved road to welcome you to Caberfae Peaks… and more! Here’s a summary of what’s new for 2017 – 2018 at Caberfae Peaks.

New balconies on the hotel, addition of timber trusses and renovated exterior.

Snowmaking expansion at the top of North Peak, with the addition of larger snowmaking pipe. The 6″ diameter pipe will allow for less friction loss and higher water pressure, which translates into increased snow production at the top of our ski hill.

Our focus on snow quality continues with the acquisition of a Prinoth BR 350 snow grooming vehicle.  The groomer will process the snow much more efficiently and layout that beautiful corduroy that our skiers and riders have grown to know and love.

More snowmaking improvements with a new 6″ trunk line up Smiling Irishmen.

Newly paved road to welcome you to Caberfae Peaks!  The improvements was a joint project between the Wexford County Road Commission, South Branch Township & Caberfae Peaks.  The pavement is now over 20% wider with much improved drainage on both sides of the road.

Caberfae Peaks – WHAT’S NEW 2016 – 2017

New Chairlift At Caberfae Peaks For the 2016-17 Ski Season

We are proud to announce the installation of highest chairlift in Northern Michigan! A brand new Doppelmayr, triple chair is currently being installed for the 2016/2017 season.

The new chairlift will have a top elevation of 1561′ and will provide an incredible 360 degree view of the surrounding Manistee National Forest.

The new fixed-grip triple chairlift will better serve the North Peak complex. The chair will unload at the top of North Peak 15 vertical feet higher than the North Peak Quad Chair. This will allow easy access to both the green runs on the back side (Smiling Irishmen, Easy Street, Shelter) and the more advanced runs on the front side (Canyon, Lift Line, No. 1, Cruiser).

The new chairlift will increase our uphill capacity, which will reduce lift lines at the bottom of North Peak.
