Boyne Mountain ~ Everett Kircher Cup, Slalom Race ~ February 18, 2024

Named after the founder of Boyne Resorts, Everett Kircher, the Kircher Cup Slalom attracts the top racers from around the state and beyond. This years’ race will be held on North Boyne.

There will be divisions for men and women as well as age categories. The winners in the open divisions for men and women will have their names etched on the Kircher Cup.

Divisions

  • Open (for our fastest, most competitive racers, and all racers between 16 – 39 years of age.)
  • Legends (60 and older)
  • 11 and younger
  • 12-15
  • 40-59

Crystal Mountain – Midwest NASTAR Pacesetting Trials – December 19, 2016


Crystal Mountain is proud to host the U.S. Ski Team / NASTAR Pacesetting Trials with former Olympic and World Cup ski racer, Daron Rahlves, as the regional NASTAR pacesetter.

Crystal Mountain will provide resort pacesetters a complimentary open-to-close lift ticket and race entry. Pacesetters earn three certified handicaps: GS Coat Handicap, GS Race Suit Handicap, and Slalom Handicap.

Spectators are welcome! It’s your chance to watch great skiing as top skiers from resorts throughout the Midwest set a blistering pace down the Cheers slope in preparation for the 2016/17 NASTAR racing season.

Cheers will be closed to the public from 9am-4:30pm on Monday, December 19, 2016.

Crystal Mountain – NASTAR Midwest Championships – February 29 – March 1, 2020

Crystal Mountain - NASTAR Midwest Championships
Crystal Mountain will host the Liberty Mutual Insurance NASTAR Midwest Championships on February 29 – March 1, 2020. The winners will be awarded prize money for the first time in NASTAR regional championships history!

The two-day event will see the fastest racers in each age, gender and ability group from Saturday’s qualifying races advance to the Race of Champions on Sunday. This dual head-to-head handicapped race will be a single-elimination event with the final four racers in the men’s and women’s races splitting a share of the $5,000* cash purse. Afterwards, the ever poplular Friends and Family Team Race will take place. The Liberty Mutual Insurance NASTAR Midwest Regional Championships are open to all recreational racers and no qualification is required.

*Prize money is dependent on number of entries. Must have over 130 entries for the full prize purse.

Event includes celebrity pacesetter, Andrew Weibrecht, live music, parties and fun racing! Discounted lodging and lift tickets are available to NASTAR participants and guests.

Cost: $125 per racer (includes all weekend events)

Registration:Opens December 1, 2019 (limited to 500 participants).

Boyne Highlands Downhill – March 26, 2017

Each year, our Boyne Highlands Downhill competition brings the thrill of World Cup-style downhill racing to Boyne Highlands. Open to all ages and ability levels, this popular annual event allows competitors to race on one of two courses – Leprechaun or Olympic – with awards for male and female winners in a variety of race classes.

Since its inception, the Boyne Highlands Downhill has built its reputation as Michigan’s premier alpine racing event, drawing competitors from throughout the region. And whether you come as a racer or a spectator, the fun goes well beyond the slopes, with demos, special events and an awards party that brings the competition’s excitement to an action-packed finish.

Registration

  •      Friday, March 24: 5:30 – 11pm
  •      Saturday, March 25: 8am – 5pm

Olympic Course Divisions

  • Start time: 9:30am
  • 5 & under, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 50-59, 60 & over

All racers will receive a commemorative t-shirt at registration.  In addition, all racers are invited to the awards party after the race where appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will also be available.  All racers must pass through the start wand in order to be entered into the prize drawing at the awards party.
