FROM Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes >> Now that we are mostly shoveled out... it's time to carpe skiem! Seize the day and enjoy the snowy March conditions while they are here. The volunteer trail groomers at Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes are true MVPs. #sleepingbear #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan***Grooming Update!***
Our amazing Trail Groomer Milan, was out on the Norther Section of the trail this Tuesday, grooming the amazing 3 to 4 feet of powder we received with the recent blizzard. Today's warmer temps are going to make the snow a little slushier.
From Crystal River Trahil head to Lawr Farm have been groomed. ... See MoreSee Less

FROM Munising Bay Trail Network - MBTN >> We’re working on getting the snow bike loop at the upper parking lot at Valley Spur opened back up.
If you need a place to get outside and get some fresh air grab your snowshoes or wide back country skis and join the Panking party.
We’ve packed a double wide trail on the first part of the crazy 8 loop to make it easier for the groomer to make a few laps. The second loop of the figure 8 needs Panking too. The more the merrier. #valleyspur #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less

FR0M Vasa Trail Ski Conditions >> From the Groomers -
Good morning Badgers,
Brian and Dave got started at 4AM with temps around 29 degrees and no new snow. They are using the PistenBully and plan to groom the entire trail system. They have finished the 5K and 10K and will continue on to complete the 25K.
The trail is looking great, but a little soft.
Cheers,
The Winter Trail Grooming Crew

FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> Well, the storm left us with a weird mess of frozen snow. We spent over an hour trying to break it up and access the doors of the shop, yurt, ski school and vault toilets. We were unsuccessful with the vault toilets, but will try again once it warms up. Wednesday's plan is to get the piles of built up cement snow out of the entrances and get the parking lot plowed. We will also check the trails for downfall.
We plan to open up this Thursday through Monday. Looks like another great week of skiing is on tap. #forbush #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less

FROM Vasa Trail Ski Conditions >> From the Groomers -
Good morning Badgers,
Jim P and Dale got to the barn at 4AM with temperatures around 12 degrees. The parking lot is still not plowed and is not accessible. They are doing the spring loop with snowmobiles to pack the snow and clear fallen branches. The crew is not using any grooming equipment yet.
The Vasa is still not skiable, but the team is working hard to get it ready!
This is a pic of the entry to the Bartlett Road Trailhead. Word is that it should be plowed out at some point today. The other 2 pics demonstrate the amount of snow thats fallen in the last couple days and how just getting the gear out and starting to pack such deep snow requires extra time and effort. 😉🤙🏽❄️
Cheers,
The Winter Trail Grooming Crew

FROM Friends of Valley Spur >> Tuesday the 17th of March. The UP has been hit by a Historic Snow Storm and snow is still coming down. Very high winds (62 mile an hour) that have taken out more trees then we can count. Power is out, roads are closed and we have no idea when our kids will be back to school. The Valley Spur Committee has made a tough and the right decision to end grooming for the season. The work and financial cost it would take does not warrant our reopening. We are all sad that our ski season is being cut short. The forecast for Thursday is calling for a rain/snow mix. We have had a great season for our Passholders and Visitors and are very thankful. We can't say enough good about our Groomer John Cromell. John you are so appreciated, along with the many volunteers it takes to run Valley Spur. VS is a great community to be apart of. I don't have a total snowfall total but at least 30". I have attached a pictures of my home in down town Munising. This is after it was snowplown the day before. Locals please attach pictures so others can understand. We can't get to the Valley at this time. Stay safe and we hope you come back and ski with us next year. FROM Forbush Corner Cross-Country Skiing >> Today is Founders Day at the Corner and Dave has made sure that we would have plenty of snow to groom and ski to celebrate. The raffle drawing for the Reid Goble fundraiser is also on tap at 10AM. We plan to groom the majority of our trails, tilling in the 4 to 6 inches received over the last few days, putting us back to 100% coverage. Trail passes for non-season pass holders are reduced to $10. A major winter storm is forecast starting late Saturday night and going into Monday for the northern lower and UP. Guess you could say today is the calm before the storm. Check out the weather forecast and stay informed. Open at 9. Gates close at 5.
We expect to look like this again by late Sunday going into next week. #forbush #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichiganToday is Founders Day at the Corner and Dave has made sure that we would have plenty of snow to groom and ski to celebrate. FROM Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes >> Good morning Skiers! We've seen a few inches of snow accumulation over the past 24 hours and it's beautiful. FROM NTN Trails >> Friday Trail Update:
We recommend you don't come to Forestville today. We don't groom while it's actively snowing.
More importantly, the road isn't plowed and most likely won't get plowed until much later today. The driving conditions are very difficult.
The tracks and skate deck are currently buried and the snow is still falling.
Our goal is to have ski trails and singletrack trails ready for Saturday morning skiing and biking. Watch Nordic Pulse for up to the minute updates.
Stay safe out there. 🌨️❄️ #ntntrails #crosscountry #snowphotos #SkiMichigan ... See MoreSee Less
