Get your team together one last time this season and see where you stack up against teams from all over the state. The 28th Ski League Championships is a great afternoon of team racing and camaraderie.
Teams are comprised of 7 ski racers, one of which must be a female. Race will take place on North Challenger and teams are encouraged to “tailgate” at the bottom of the slope.
Important! Each participant must show ID confirming 21 years of age or older, must read and sign their own the liability indemnification form, and pick up racing bib and T-shirt at registration.
At 22 years old, she’s already accomplished more than any other female slopestyle snowboarder from the Midwest. She’s topped podiums in worldwide competitions; is a member of the U.S. Pro Slopestyle Snowboard Team; and claimed a solid sixth place finish in the Sochi Winter Olympics. In January 2017, Karly even competed in her first X Games competition. We, of course, love that it all began at Boyne Mountain.
It’s easy to assume, by the mountains of medals Karly Shorr has already accumulated, that she’s been grinding rails and rocking jumps since she could walk. After all, her family is practically snowboarding royalty in Michigan: both brothers, Kyle and Kevin, are great riders, coaches and competition judges. Her mom, Mo, ran USSA snowboarding competitions in Northern Michigan for a decade. Back to Karly and those medals…
And for one weekend, Karly will be “coming home” to Boyne Mountain to give you a chance to ride with her. For two days, Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 from 1-4pm, you can hit the park with an Olympian, Karly Piper Shorr.

Each year, our Boyne Highlands Downhill competition brings the thrill of World Cup-style downhill racing to Boyne Highlands. Open to all ages and ability levels, this popular annual event allows competitors to race on one of two courses – Leprechaun or Olympic – with awards for male and female winners in a variety of race classes.
Since its inception, the Boyne Highlands Downhill has built its reputation as Michigan’s premier alpine racing event, drawing competitors from throughout the region. And whether you come as a racer or a spectator, the fun goes well beyond the slopes, with demos, special events and an awards party that brings the competition’s excitement to an action-packed finish.
