When is he going to get a trail named after him?

Lou and my grandfather (who skied until he passed away at 94) were the best of friends. Some of the greatest memories of childhood and beyond are of trying to beat him racing down the mountain. Over 30 years of ski memories together. What a blessing it was to spend one last day together a few weeks ago and introduce him to our 5 month old son who had just skied his first run earlier that day at Crystal. 107 and 5months old... Ski buddies.

Such an amazing man. The time we spent interviewing him this past January will be an experience I will never forget.

Lou will be missed on the slopes of Crystal but is surely skiing perfect corduroy hills right now!

What an amazing, positive man. I am honored to have gotten to meet him.

So many memories of this man. My Dad still talks about him all the time. Rest easy.

I feel honored to have met Lou and Judith several years ago at Crystal Mt. Both lovely people. A life well lived.

Prayers to his family ❤️ A true inspiration.

I hope they are all now leaving snow trails on the best celestial slopes ever! We miss you. God speed. Bonnie

RIP Lou. You've been a role model to so many. God speed.

He had a great run.

With more love and respect than I can ever convey. Be well, Lou and hug Judith for me. Xoxo

He lived a rich and passion filled life . ❤️

RIP Lou....such an inspiration. Cherish the great times with loved ones!

Awww, I was in awe of him when I worked there 16 years ago! God bless.

Lou will be greatly missed but not his legacy and his zest for life. I'm honored to have known him.

Awww, R.I.P. Lou! I like the idea of naming a trail after him.

Such an inspiration! Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

ski on in paradise Lou..!!! 🙏❤️🍻

What an interesting and inspiring man! He will be missed.

Lou embodies all the good in northern Michigan.

RIO Lou ... a life well lived. Love his quote

Rest In Peace Lou.

I enjoyed seeing him out on the hill!!

Very sad day for northern Michigan

Entertainment

Drew Hale Band - Time: 3-5pm
Influenced by Texas roots and artists such as Reckless Kelly and Eric Church, the Drew Hale Band’s music pays homage to the red dirt country and southern rock scenes, as well as paints a picture of their love for the people and culture of Michigan, where the band calls home. They have shared stages and played festivals with some of Nashville’s biggest recording artists, including Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, and more. You can count on an eclectic show that delivers a dynamic combination of originals and covers that bridge the gap between country, roots rock, and blues.

The Rock Show Band - Time: 5:30-8pm
Mirroring the look and bombast of Journey in its 1980s heyday, The Rock Show Band takes fans on a sojourn through the greatest hits of the Steve Perry era. The song list timewarps to the golden days of shoulder pads and leopard prints as the band loves, touches, and squeezes out all the greatest hits. Their flashy fun performances are sure to keep you on your feet all night!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crystal Mountain asks that you please be responsible about your alcoholic consumption. We encourage our guests to assign a designated driver or use on-property shuttles when leaving the festival. Cars left overnight will not be ticketed or towed. Those who chose not to drink at the festival will still have to pay the same price for admission as those who are drinking. All attendees have access to a lineup of musical talent, food and beverage vendors, merchandise, festival activities and prizes. For this reason, discounted tickets are not available.
