Iron Fish Distillery Fat Chance Fat Tire Bike RaceJan 21, 9:00amCrystal MountainJoin us for the Iron Fish Distillery Fat Chance Fat Tire Bike Race. The Otter Trail course is 2 miles of speed, twisting sections and minimal elevation. Each lap in will add it's own new fat tire challenges. Riders will take on 90 minutes or 45 minute of fast, flat and wide open laps on a hard packed loop. Get in as many laps as you can in your allotted time, but when the clock hits 1:30:00, everyone is done! It's a race day you don't want to miss. All races begin at 11am.

Registration and packet pick up will be from 9-10:30am on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Kinlochen lobby.

Cost: $50 per rider; Day of Registration: $60 per rider

• Women's Open
• Men's Master (45+)
• Women's Master (45+)

45-Minute Category
• Men's Short's Race
• Women's Short's Race

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category. Plus plenty of swag from Crystal Mountain, Iron fish Distillery, Einstein Cycles, Bearclaw Bicycle Co., Up. Bike TC, KOLO TC and Kona bikes. Awards ceremony will be held in the Crystal Center starting at 1pm including awards, post-race food and celebrations.

Tomorrow is the big day! Where is everyone skiing this weekend?

Winter Trails Day at XC Ski HQJan 6, 10:30amCross Country Ski HeadquartersEntering its 21st year, Cross Country Ski Headquarters and the Great Lakes Winter Trails Council present the “Pure Michigan” Winter Trails Day on Saturday, January 6th, 2018. Adults and children receive a free Facilities Pass and cross country ski or snowshoe lesson, plus a complimentary hot cocoa and hot dog cookout on the ski trails! Equipment rentals are available for a special reduced rate. Bring your friends and family, and discover how fun winter in Northern Michigan can be!

Check-in is at 10:30am. Please make sure to pre-register by emailing info@crosscountryski.com. Check-in is followed by outfitting in rental boots, skis, poles or snowshoes for a reduced rate of $9 per adult and $6 per child.

11:00am: X-C Ski & Snowshoe group lesson. Learn the basics of cross country skiing and snowshoeing, including going up and down hills, and how to fall down and get back up!

12:00pm: Ski out to Trappers Cabin for Hot Dogs, a bonfire and Hot Cocoa, all on the house. After lunch at the Cabin, skiers and snowshoers will have the choice of exploring more trails, or heading back to Cross Country Ski Headquarters.

5:30pm (or earlier): Skiers return from their tours and return snowshoes, boots, skis & poles. They are invited to relax in front of the Fireplace in the Stone Turtle Day Lodge anytime throughout the day.

Preregistration is required for this event. We have a limited number of skis and snowshoes. Please pre-register by emailing your name, address, age, shoe size, and choice of X-C skiing or snowshoeing to: info@crosscountryski.com or calling 800-832-2663.
