Mackinac Island Cross Country Skiing
The Mackinac Island Ski club grooms trails on the east and north side of the Island in Mackinac Island State Park.
The cross country ski trails wind through the pristine woods of Mackinac Island State Park and allow the winter visitor to see all of the natural and historical landmarks of the island.
You can follow the ski trails to the interior of the island and take in the vistas from the highest point on the island at Fort Holmes. Or ski through the woods to Arch Rock and enjoy the view of Lake Huron from the bluffs on the eastern side of the island.

Need a place to store your bags while exploring Mackinac Island?
Whether you have time before your ferry departs, or just don’t want to carry your purchases around all day, there are two public locker locations on the island:
📍 Shepler’s Dock
• Located at Shepler’s Dock
• Two locker sizes available
• Lockers operate using tokens
• A token machine is located directly across from the lockers
📍 Arnold Transit Ryba Dock
• Located at the Arnold Transit Ryba Dock on the west end of town
• Lockers operate using quarters
💡 Good to Know:
• Lockers are available for day rental only.
• All lockers must be emptied before the close of business each day, prior to the last ferry leaving the island.
• Any items left in a locker overnight will be removed.
• If you lose or damage your locker key, there is a $75 replacement fee to retrieve your belongings.
