Milje’s Ski Trails have been owned and operated by the Miljevich Family since the early 1900′s when Eli and Sava Miljevich emigrated from Serbia to make their home in Wakefield, Michigan. The land — originally over 150 acres — was used as a homestead for the couple and their seven children. Upon the couple’s passing, all seven children received an interest of the family land.
In the decades following, some of the original 150 acres was sold to non-family members. In the 1970′s, Rollie and Cecilia Miljevich, purchased back 95 acres of the original homestead with the intent of turning it into a Christmas tree farm and ski trails. The Nordic trails flourished under Rollie’s care and Milje’s quickly became popular with tourists and locals alike. The land was purchased by Greg & Carrie Miljevich in 2007 who have expanded the trail system and upgraded the grooming equipment. A new warming shack was built in 2010. The trails are currently over 15K in length and groomed with state-of-the-art equipment for classical Nordic skiing.
Our family welcomes yours to Milje’s Ski Trails. We thank you for choosing our trails. SKI you there.
