Cross Country Ski Headquarters – Free Cross Country Ski Lesson – January 12, 2019

Learn how to cross country ski at our Saturday free ski lesson!

This beginner lesson teaches the basics of cross country skiing, including classic diagonal stride and/or skate skiing, hill climbing and descending, and turning. We even teach you how to get up after you fall down!

Each lesson ends with a mini ski tour to Trapper’s Cabin, where skiers can purchase hot cocoa and relax by the bonfire. Adults and children are welcome.

If you need to rent skis for a nominal charge, please sign in at the rental desk no later than 10:15am.

This lesson is free and lasts approximately 1 hour.

Cross Country Ski Headquarters

The trails are freshly snow-covered after the 2 inches from yesterday! By the way, does anyone know what these tracks are from? Looks like a large bird/small dinosaur was wandering the trails... @ Cross Country Ski Headquarters ... See MoreSee Less

Definitely small dinosaur. 😂

I’m going with Dino the dinosaur!

we are coming up this weekend and look forward to trying out our new skis. You only got 2 inches yesterday? I am downstate, we got 8 in the city, I would love to share some with you.

Are the dinosaurs tasty if you catch them? I would think they taste like chicken. New dish at the Stone Turtle Day Lodge: small dinosaur soup!

I like the dinosaur theory. 😄

Emu on the loose? That is a very large turkey, long stretch.

Those look like Turkey tracks. They won't hurt you if you leave em alone. Watch out for train tracks though.

Baby rapture😳

Turkey of course!!

Happy Veterans Day! This winter, we are partnering with the Roscommon County VA to offer cross country skiing to local veterans and their families. We think XC skiing is one of the greatest ways to experience this incredible country that so many have fought for, and we are grateful to all that have served. We hope to see all of you Roscommon Vets on the trails this winter! #thankyouforyourservice #comeskiwithus ... See MoreSee Less
